“Straightforward and smooth”

“WE LOVE OUR NEW BATHROOM and, as far as home renovation projects go (and we have done a few), it was straightforward and smooth in both the run up and the execution. First, as to the design, Robert was wonderful. His ideas were inventive and interesting but he was not so tied to anything that he couldn’t discuss it and be flexible. He has a nice sense for materials and finishes and the end product really reflects it! He also met with us a couple of times to give us that extra push and assistance in making selections, one of the hardest parts of this process for us. He also talked us down from the ledge at least once, though we likely should have extended that conversation even more. Lesson learned.

Duane and his guys were great too. Duane mapped out a schedule for the work and, though we didn’t monitor it day by day, I can say that they hit the target for each day and each week pretty closely and the project was done exactly when he said it would be. I’ve actually never had that happen before in a project. Louis and Mike were wonderful, as were the other contractors and service people that we met. They were very respectful of our home, doing their best to keep it as clean outside of the actual workspace as they could. Even better, they were genuinely nice guys to have around and the “creep out factor” of having strangers in our home passed immediately. They work hard and do a wonderful job, as did the other craft persons we didn’t meet, but are appreciating their handywork and attention to detail.

It was fun to watch it come together but the finished product is even better; it’s just beautiful! It’s made being confined to our home far less painful than it might otherwise have been! We will enjoy it for years to come and, when the time comes to sell our home, know that it will contribute to the bottom-line value of the property. We hadn’t thought seriously about renovating the kitchen, but working with them was so painless that it’s a real possibility now. I really can’t say enough good things about them, and will recommend them to anyone who asks.”

“It’s always with some trepidation that homeowners undertake a major renovation to their home. Many questions always arise and you wonder where do we start. In our case, we decided to contact a kitchen design firm to give us a starting point. That is the easy part. Finding a contractor that will complete the renovation on time, within budget, and finished as you envision it is the hard part.

“It was suggested that we contact DLC, Inc. to do the project. Our first contact was with Duane Dwyer who came to our home, surveyed the project, took the necessary measurements, and then provided us with a detailed proposal with a defined timeline and cost. DLC, Inc. submitted a proposal and a statement of work that listed in detail all of the work work to be performed, when it was to be completed, and the final end of project date. Ninety percent of our questions were answered.
